CharlieMary
CharlieMary's origin story is similar to that of many responsible fashion brands.
CharlieMary's entrepreneurs Charlotte van Waes and Marieke Vinck previously worked in the traditional fashion industry. They felt uncomfortable with the way things were done and knew there had to be better ways.
They quit their jobs, defined what responsible fashion meant to them and founded CharlieMary in 2009. CharlieMary's goal is to make responsible fashion the norm instead of the marginal.
CharlieMary is a circular economy brand. The brand's fashion collections represent slow fashion: they are seasonless and aim to give their wearers everyday classics.
CharlieMary makes comfortable, timeless, high-quality clothing for women that can be worn for a long time, passed on to the next user and worn again. A modern and simple aesthetic supports the goal of long-lasting wear.
Charlotte and Marieke make their apparel from surplus fabrics from fashion houses and recycled materials. As a result, some products are only available in small batches.
CharlieMary works with production partners who provide safe and comfortable working conditions for their employees. They strive to avoid the use of plastic in their clothing and in their business as a whole.
